Stuck in the mud

I just read a lovely quote:

“Worry is like spinning your wheels in the snow – the rut gets deeper but there is no forward motion.” – Sue Whitaker.

How true this felt to me at the moment, except that for me it feels more like spinning my wheels in mud.  Thick, gloopy, sticky mud.  And the harder I try then the more stuck I feel.

And this tiny quote struck me really hard in the middle of the forehead.  For the last couple of weeks since getting back from my holiday I have ignored my own advice.  I have been spending time worrying and thinking and talking instead of just relaxing and doing.

As someone very special often says (thank you Trevor Silvester) – anything more than nothing is success.  And just for a short while I lost sight of that.

So I am taking a deep and relaxing breath and starting to move forward again, just one small step at a time.  That way I know that I am moving forward rather than just spinning my wheels in the mud.

Have a great week.
