Anxiety – How Can I Help You?
I know exactly how you feel. I’ve been stuck in the same black hole myself. I’ve experienced the same worries that I’m not normal, and that I’m going mad. You can see my About Me page to read more.
But I also know how effective Cognitive Hypnotherapy can be at helping to overcome anxiety and panic attacks. Here are just some of the benefits you can experience from working with me:
I will help you to understand what is happening. The science of anxiety and panic but in a very easy to understand way. When you understand something you have power over it and it is less scary. So this means you can take back control of your body and mind. You can stop the negative cycle before it begins.
You will step out of the turmoil of overthinking. So you can take the time and space to work things through using your own intuition and inner wisdom. This means you can look forward to a brighter, happier future. Able to do whatever you want, when you want.
I will give you the tools and techniques that you can use in the future if you ever need to. You don’t need to worry about your anxiety coming back in the future – you will have your own permanent solution.
You will learn to control the worrying and overthinking. Allowing you to sleep better and enjoy higher energy levels.
You will start to feel normal again. So that you can enjoy the everyday things that you want to with your friends and family.
As you break the negative cycle then you will start to climb out of the black hole. Slowing your thinking down and breathing more easily, and feeling more comfortable in your own body.
Anxiety – Am I going mad?
Many of my clients feel that there is something seriously wrong with their mind. Some fear that they are going mad.
The first really important thing to understand is that what you are experiencing in your body is perfectly normal. All of the strange feelings are normal, but NOT in that particular situation.
What you are experiencing are the results of the ‘fight or flight’ system. Your mind believes it has spotted something dangerous and is preparing you to run very fast or to fight.
In order to do this your body releases a mix of chemicals which prepare your body. You might notice your heart beat increasing, your breathing becoming faster and shorter. You might feel different sensations in your hands or feet. There may be tics and twitches as you feel the pent up energy in your body waiting to be released.
Fight or flight also affects our digestive system. You may notice strange noises and a need to run to the toilet. Over time you might notice that everything slows down and you develop IBS (irritable bowel syndrome).
Once the danger has passed then in an ideal world you go and sleep it all off. The balance of your nervous system returns to normal.
This is brilliant in a truly dangerous situation. Situations like meeting a tiger on the loose or a masked man with a knife.
A Normal Response Gone Wrong
But the unconscious mind cannot tell the difference between real and imaginary. So other situations can also trigger it:
- Worrying about things that happened in the past;
- Overthinking about what may happen in the future;
- Reading something on social media;
- Seeing a disturbing item on the news;
- Hearing a rumour at work about redundancies;
- Feeling a sensation in your body and imagining a heart attack or cancer;
- The list goes on and on ….
So yes you are normal. But you are reacting to situations that are not physically dangerous.
This is where cognitive hypnotherapy can help you to master your anxiety. Contact me to book a completely free initial conversation or call me on 07895 290528.
You Can Let Go of Your Anxiety:
For more than a decade now I’ve been working mainly with people suffering from anxiety, panic attacks, over-thinking and depression.
Here’s what one of my clients said:
I just wanted to let you know that I had a fantastic weekend away with my friends. I was so pleased and surprised that I did not have a single instance of anxiety before, during or after. Thank you so much for your help, it has been a long time since I have been able to go to any social events without any sort of anxiety attacks. I felt normal again.
