Everybody who experiences IBS is different, so we will spend time understanding how it affects your life currently. More importantly we will discuss what your life will be like without IBS. I will then plan the mix of hypnotherapy and coaching that will work best for you.
We will use deep relaxation, visualisations, and individually prepared hypnotic suggestions. You will also learn lots of techniques that you can use day to day to remain in control. You can very quickly begin to look forward to relaxing and enjoying life again.
Hypnotherapy and IBS – The Research
According to the NHS Choices website it is thought that between 10% and 20% of people experience IBS at some time. That’s a lot of us suffering very often in silence because we don’t want to be moaning all the time about how bad we feel.
And even though Irritable Bowel Syndrome isn’t fatal it is certainly painful and embarrassing.
There have been studies done that indicate that stress and the general state of mind of IBS sufferers can have an effect on the severity of the symptoms. Therefore we know that relieving stress and anxiety can help people gain control over their IBS.
Studies at The University of Gothenberg in Sweden showed that hypnotherapy alleviated the symptoms of IBS in 40% of people involved. They also showed that those results lasted.
