Hot Sweats or Flushes:
Many people find that the way they think about hot sweats and flushes has a big influence on their experience. In fact, in some cultures women are brought up to expect their menopause to be a joyful and easy time – and their experience usually reflects that.
You can start to break any negative expectations you may have. You can also learn visualisations and techniques which will help you reduce and control this particular symptom.
Palpitations during menopause can happen as part of the physical changes to our bodies. However, they can then form part of an anxiety circle. As we become aware of the palpitations we worry we might be having a heart attack – or other heart issues. The more we worry the more anxious we become. This releases stress chemicals in our bodies which induce palpitations themselves. Before we know it we are caught in a vicious cycle.
Hypnotherapy can help you break this cycle. You can learn to relax and accept the natural changes you are experiencing during your menopause.
Our moods are affected by our hormones. If you suffered from PMS anyway then you are more likely to experience menopause mood swings.
But, we can also become more dissatisfied with life during our menopause transition. Things that we put up with for many years can start to trigger stronger feelings and reactions. We become more sensitive to other people’s moods, habits etc. We can decide that we no longer want to put up with people and situations that have niggled away in the past.
